Draw This Again

Firstly, I want to say how much I used to love the older version of this picture. I used reference for the pose and tried to make it cartoonish, but realistic... I was so happy with it. I was even happier when it got suggested for a group.

In these two years I have learned about anatomy - A LOT ABOUT ANATOMY. I've studied colour, perspective, backgrounds, composition, textures, clothing and how to use lighting effectively.
I hope I have displayed all of that in the revamped picture. I took care to make the pose more dynamic -- not using reference this time. I used the background to draw the focus to Fiddle, using the colour and shape to draw attention to the centre of the picture. I used a whole host of yellows, browns and greens to make the picture have a warm feel to it. I really have pulled out the stops here.

Even if I don't win, I feel satisfied knowing that in these two years of extreme training, I have grasped concepts I never knew about, tried things I was afraid of and mastered a few techniques I was good at. I hope to improve this much in the years to follow.
Because practice makes perfect.
